1 Corinthians 6

Goodmorning everyone! Today we are on chapter 6!

My favorite verses were 19  and  20

(19) Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, (20) for you were brought with a price. So glorify God in your Body. (ESV)

This verses are very important becasue in verse 19 it is saying that you are God's, and you are not your own. In verse 20 it says that you were brought with a price so glorify God in your body. That verse means that since your are not your own and that your God's, you should do what glorifies Him.

I liked verse 20. "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." (ESV) We were "bought" or saved with a price (Jesus dying) so we should glorify God with what we have.

I really liked what both of you said. I liked verse 19 too.

Three verses stood out to me today when I was reading. They are verse 15 and 19-20.

Verse 15:
Don't you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! (NLT)

Verse 19-20:
Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and is given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, (20) for God brought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (NLT)

All of these verse talk about how important our body is. It says that because, like what Joe said, when Jesus died on the cross for us that was him "buying" us and so the only way for us to pay him back is really to use our body to glorify him. It also says earlier in the chapter that God will raise us from the dead. If we did not take good care of our bodies while we were here on Earth, we will be in bad shape when God raises us from the dead.

I really like verses 19-20, because it says that we are made of Christ and we must be like Christ, while we are given the choice to do what ever we want, we must do what will please God, because he will please us with things that we do not know that will please us. We must honor God with our body because he paid a high price, and that price being his one and only son, to save us. We can never replace what Jesus had to go through, but we can give back to God by honoring God's sacrifice to us.

I really liked vurse 6 because it talks about setting an example for non belivers because if we act bad in front of them they will never come to know God.
