1 Corinthians 10

We are reading 1 Corinthians 10 today and my favorite verses were 12 - 13

"Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you that  is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

What these verses are saying is that if you say something like, "I would never do something like that," there is more of a chance that you will do that, because when you get prideful of yourself, that is when you give into temptation. In verse 13 it says "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man." This means that it is normal to give into temptations. In verse 13 it also says that God won't give you a temptation that you can’t handle. He will always give you a way out of it.

Today when I was reading I also liked verse 13.

Verse 13:
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. (NLT)

This verse is cool because it showed that God is behind EVERYTHING. God will allow us to be tempted, that's part of life. He won't however, let the temptation get so out of hand that we can't handle it. Its says that God won't give us anything we can't handle.
