John 19

We are almost done with John. John 19 is the chapter where Jesus gets crucified. I had to read John 20 also because I didn't want to start my day with that chapter only. Jesus is so amazing with what He did for us. There has never been anyone perfectly innocent like He was. He is the only one who didn't deserve crucifixion, yet He willing died for those that did. Jesus is truly amazing.

I can't believe that someone so perfect could love me like that. I'm a human i mess up i should have died on the cross but He loves me enough to die for me. It is truly amazing that God sent His Son to die for us. I don't deserve His love and mercy but He really loves me. I really don't know what else to say except praise God for His unconditional love!!!!~abby<3

I love how caring Jesus is. While he is on the cross he sees his mother and his disciples. In verses 26 and 27, He says to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son." And He said to his disciple, John, " Here is your mother". So basically JEsus told John to take care of her. I think that is so cool how Jesus still thinks of others even when He is on the cross, dying the most painful death.

This chapter is so amazing. The fact that Jesus is willing to be crucified for us is unthinkable. And what's so cool is throughout the crucifixion, old testament prophecies are fulfilled.

Verse 24 "so they said to one another, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be. This was to fulfill the Scripture which says,
"They divided my garments among them,
and for my clothing they cast lots."
So the soldiers did these things, "

verse 28 "After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), I thirst."

verse 33 "But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs." and 36 "For these things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: Not one of his bones will be broken."

and verse 34 "But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water." and 37 "And again another Scripture says, They will look on him whom they have pierced."

Each of those events had been prophesied thousand of years earlier. What I don't understand is how the chief priests didn't see these things being fulfilled.
