The last James Dun Dun Dan!!! 1/11/13

Velcome back everybody to another post from Matt. For today's topic we shall hence be discussing James 5, the last chapter of James.

1-6

We start of with James warning the rich. He says that much trouble will come to them. He says their riches will be worthless, rusted and decaying. They took advantage over workers and showed no mercy. They fattened themselves up like animals headed for slaughter and lived only to please themselves.

7-11

Be patient. This is perfect for today, for me at least because I couldn't post at school because the library was closed, but anyway everyone needs patience, you, me, your mom, my mom. Everyone. You need patience because everyday of your life, your waiting for something. Follow the example of the prophets, they had to suffer through many this but they were patient. And those who accept their trials with patience will revive God's blessing.

Be careful of what you say. This verse just says not to end a promise with "I swear to this or that." Just simply say you will or you won't.

13-18

Have trouble? Pray. Happy? Sing. Sick? Ask pastor Rob to rub oil on you an pray. No I'm just kidding but you should ask people to pray for you. You should tell others the things you've done wrong so that they can pray about you. An example of powerful prayer is Elijah. He prayer for no rain and It didn't rain for 3 and a half years. Then he prayed and it rained again.

19-20

If anyone goes astray, off the truth, and someone helps them back to the truth then that person who fell off the path will be saved from eternal death in hell and have their sins forgiven. So if you see or know someone like this, do something about it.
