Romans 10

I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday! There is no bible study tonight. :(

The first part of Romans 10 talks about how the people did not understand God's way. They tried to reach God by following his law. Then it says: For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. (Romans 10:4 NLT). This verse is talking about how because Jesus came and died on the cross for us we don't have to follow the law. Now we just have to accepted Jesus and we will be forgiven and we will spend forever with him in heaven.

Then it stars talking about how to get saved. It says: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (10) For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10 NLT). Then it starts talking about how we must go out and spread the word about Jesus and what he did for us. Some people may not receive the message the first time, maybe not even the third or forth time. It's all right though because it says: And later Isaiah spoke boldly for God, saying, "I was found by people who were not looking for me. I showed myself to those who were not asking for me." (Romans 10: 20 NLT). I think that this verse is talking about how when we open our self's up to God we will find that everything will work out because we will be able to trust God.

I think that the primary prayer for all christians is Romans 10:1, "Brothers and sisters, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved." And Romans 10:6-9 is like a guide for christians, we must remember that Satan didn't bring Jesus down, but God raised Jesus from the dead, and if we believe in that, we will be saved.

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard of him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? ( Romans 10:14 NLT)

I liked this verse. It tells us that we have to tell unbelievers about Him. Thats how we all heard about him, from someone else. It's our job to tell others about Him because if we don't they may never know. I'm going to try to tell others about God whenever i get the chance.~abby<3

Hey Wyatt! Nice username! I really like verse one also. It sums up exactly what we as Christians should be hoping for.

Abby, I actually highlighted that verse when I read it. We as believes should make sure that everybody has heard the Word of God and they do not miss out on it.

I liked verses 9-10 because they sum up the Gospel in only a few sentences.

9because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Verses 14-15 command us to preach to others so that none will be without knowing who God is. Therefore, every person is accountable to their choice.

14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!"
